For the last decade, the HTTP Archive has been tracking the evolution of the modern web. This data, gathered for the better of the web community as well as scholars and industry leaders, has become essential for crafting anything from conference presentations, blog posts or even sharing data on social media.
In 2019 the HTTP Archive created the first of an annual report: The Web Almanac. The mission was to combine the raw statistics and trends of the HTTP Archive with the expertise of the web community. The Web Almanac has become a comprehensive report of the state of the web, backed by real data and trusted by web experts. 2021 marks the third edition of The Web Almanac which has grown both in contributors as well as content, capping at over 750 pages.
We at WebPageTest were delighted to invite the principals and authors of The Web Almanac project to join us and talk about the significance of this endeavor and answer questions from the community in what we’re calling The Web Almanac AMA.
